There are some personal tools that are necessary to engage in pilot training. We can provide those! We can also provide a backpack full of relevant equipment that is not required, but it can be incredibly useful to support your training. Please review the equipment packages below and place your order with your Pathways Instructor.
These packages include the equipment you need to complete your flight training. References to the "Electronic Flight Bag" is limited to a 1-year subscription. All equipment may have up to a 2-week lead time and includes a free hour of review and setup.
This premium equipment package includes the equipment to complete PPL training, and more! It comes with polished, top shelf gear. It includes core FAA training textbooks, premium Aviation headphones that pair with the included Electronic Flight Bag and optional iPad, a stainless steel mechanical E6B flight computer backed up by an electronic aviation calculator, and quality rotating chart plotters. Each package includes local Sectional navigation chart, supplements, and much more!
This equipment package will include everything you need to complete your training, but it is compiled with the budget conscious in mind. Items are selected from quality 'industry standard' options that are 'built to last' and includes an optional iPad to support the included 1yr subscription for the Electronic Flight Bag. If you already have a recent generation iPad with at least 100GB of available storage, we can deduct that item from the equipment cost.
Want to train the way they did it 'back in the day'? We would love to support your path to success as well! If you are comfortable relying solely on paper publications, manual calculators, and hard copy directories to meet FAA standards, then this is the option for you.
While it is optional, the value provided by the $200 online ground school cannot be overstated. If you rely on individual private ground instruction, it will be valuable, but very hard for the budget conscious to justify.
This package includes educational versions of tools and FAA textbooks for study and for general aviation interest. The included Airband receiver can listen to nearby Aircraft and the Air Traffic Control system in real time! It does not include the aviation headset, EFB, electronic calculator, online school, or preflight gear. Many pilots have used this equipment for certification, so bring it to flight training when you are ready to get started. You might be on track for a 16th Birthday solo!
